LED Floodlight Range - Fitting and Installation
General Download PDF Here
Lighthouse Led Floodlights are constructed from powder coated  high quality aluminium alloy bodies with  stainless steel screws and bolts, tempered glass front and mild steel brackets. An 80cm, 0.75mm, 3 core cable is supplied for installation purposes. Each floodlight can be identified by a foil label on the underside of the fitting. Full specification can be found here...
Before Installation, please note the following:

The ambient operating temperature range is -20 to +30 degrees C.  Floodlights above 30w should not be installed inside buildings were there is a risk of temperatures exceeding 30 degrees. In all internal applications floods should not be positioned in direct sunlight or in areas subjected to radiated heat. The fins on the back of the flood light are designed to dissipate heat away from the chip and must be regularly maintained to avoid build up of dust and other debris which can reduce efficiency in all circumstances.

Our floodlights are fitted with surge protected ballasts, which are designed to shut down when occasional surges occur in the mains supply.  In the event of a surge the fitting will shut down and can be reset by switching supply off for 10 minutes before switching on again    Floodlights must not be incorporated in circuits with Metal Halide or SON fittings or in situations where voltage or current fluctuations (transients) are likely to affect the circuit, such constant surges will affect fitting life and lead to early failure.  We recommend that all circuits are surge protected where there is possibility of surges/transients.

Lighthouse supplies Floodlights with Photocells and PIRs, please note that PIRs may take up to 1 minute to activate when movement is detected. After positioning the PIR please ensure the hand screw is fully tightened to avoid water ingress. Failure to do so will invalidate the warranty.  Fitting of PIRs or Photocells other than preinstalled supplied by Lighthouse will invalidate the warranty.  External photocells or PIRs may be used via a contactor however no more than 500 circuit watts should be controlled by 1 PIR or Photocell.  Fittings must not be automated by more than one device.   When activated each flood should remain on for a minimum of 20 minutes.  Total circuit loading should not exceed 70% of the maximum circuit loading.

Installation

Prior to installation check that there is no transit damage to the fitting.

  1. Choose a suitable mounting point and secure the fitting to the mounting point with a suitable fixing method
  2. Use an IP65 rated junction box to make connection to mains.  Brown – Live, Blue – Neutral, Green/Yellow – Earth.
  3. Where cables are connected inside the fitting, care must be taken to ensure all seals are intact and the fitting is fully water tight after connection. Any water ingress will invalidate the warranty.
  4. Fittings should not be wired in series and no more than 10 fittings or 500w should be included on any circuit.
Warranty
All lighthouse lamps undergo a rigorous testing regime during manufacture.   Lighthouse offers  to repair replace or credit were fittings  are found to be defective due to manufacturing defect  or have been subjected to transit damage to the place of delivery specified on our despatch note ( but not to installation site).  Lighthouse may refuse warranty were fittings have been removed from site and may require sites of more than 20 fitting to be registered. Inappropriate use or failure to follow installation instructions will invalidate the warranty.    This warranty extends to 36 months of use or 12000 hrs from date of supply.  Full terms and conditions are available here...
